About Me

Welcome! My name is Katelyn Studebaker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I am the owner and solo practitioner at Studebaker Counseling LLC.

I’ve lived in the Dayton area my entire life and I love this community. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wright State University in 2014. I continued my education at Wright State and graduated with my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018.

I have worked in the mental health field for 10+ years in a variety of roles, my experiences ranging from providing peer support to incoming freshmen at Wright State University with Autism Spectrum Disorder, to assisting grief support groups for children, to aiding at-risk youth in day treatment summer programs. I’ve also provided direct support to children ages 5 and older living with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Prior to opening my private practice in 2021, I worked in community mental health settings with adults and children. I also worked as a therapist in a therapeutic foster care setting, working closely with families, social service organizations, school districts, and children impacted by trauma. In addition to being a professional counselor, I’m passionate about creating art and music as well as spending time with my two dogs, Pippa and Ruby.

What makes my practice unique?
I have two niches:
DBT for Adults & Eclectic Therapy for Kids.

Half of my time is spent working with kiddos ages 6 and older.
We like to have fun; we play with clay, paint pictures, use puppets, sand tray, write stories, etc. Click “My Work With Children and Families” to learn more.

The other half of my time is spent helping adults combine mindfulness based strategies with psychotherapy. We practice grounding exercises and breathing techniques, explore coping skills and emotions, and try new things at every session.
