Welcome to Studebaker Counseling LLC!

I’m so glad you’re here.

Katelyn Studebaker, LPCC

Hello! My name is Katelyn and I’ve lived in the Dayton area for my entire life. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Wright State University in 2014. I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wright State University in 2018. I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, working with children, teens, and adults of all ages. I have worked in community mental health settings, therapeutic foster care, and I worked with children and families as a registered behavioral technician. In 2021 I started my private practice and in 2025 I transitioned to a 100% virtual practice.

I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and have completed phase one of intensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I especially enjoy working with people navigating neurodivergence, anxiety, and trauma. I love helping clients identify treatment goals and improve self-esteem. I utilize play therapy-informed strategies, expressive arts, humor, virtual games and activities, and lots of fun creative ways to help people move forward.

By blending EMDR and DBT, I am able to help people focus on learning new skills and letting go of traumatic experiences. I love helping people learn mindfulness and meditation strategies, communication skills, and lots of practical techniques which can be used in day to day life. I excel at helping folks stay accountable while working towards goals. I work to find creative ways to make telehealth fun for kids, and I use visual aides and hands on activities for teens and adults too!

Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, ADHD, self-harm, self-esteem challenges and traumatic experiences. Some of my clients also struggle with school refusal and oppositional behaviors. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I am also trained in Trauma Focused CBT.

If you're looking for a therapist who will ask you to try new things, assign homework, and laugh with you- I could be a good fit. My clients tell me that they appreciate my warmth and that I'm easy to talk to. The best way to reach me is email. Send me a message and let's get started!
